Tagging emails and using the event log

What is tag?

A tag is a descriptive label you can add to individual newsletter editions and templates. It allows you to track individual events for each tag.

The events that will be associated with a tag are:

  • Sent
  • Delivered
  • Opened
  • Clicked
  • Bounced

How to tag emails

Tagging newsletter editions

To tag newsletter editions, click the tag icon in the top navigation bar and enter one or more tags. The tags entered will now be associated with that send.

You can export the event log manually by clicking 'Export'.

You can also export the event log programmatically via our 'Export Events' API endpoint: https://docs.echobox.com/reference/endpoints-export-events

Reporting outcomes

This allows you to periodically export events and analyse the events by tag enabling reporting that can answer questions such as:

  • What is the trend in clicks throughout my welcome series journey?
  • How many password reset emails do we send each week?
  • Which promotional email received the most opens?
