Share Timing

For each share made to a social page, it is possible to pick one of four timing options in the Compose Box - Optimal, Time Slot, Specific Time, Now.

For posts scheduled on Optimal or Time Slot, Echobox will optimize the exact share time by considering what else has been posted, how much other content is scheduled, and what times are best for traffic to maximize your click-throughs and impressions on this page.

All times should be set using the local time of the user sharing the article, not the time zone of the page.

 

Optimal

The Optimal timing setting in your Echobox is the default setting for sharing your articles. This option is adjusted based on the Time Sensitivity classification of your articles (when available). 

  • Breaking articles are posted within 15 minutes of scheduling
  • Normal articles are posted within 12 hours of scheduling
  • Evergreen articles are posted within 48 hours of scheduling
  • Articles with no set classification are posted within 12 hours of scheduling

Within these windows, Echobox will aim to share the post at the best time to optimize traffic levels. Echobox does not maximize traffic for your individual posts, but across all posts collectively. 

We highly recommend using Optimal timing, since Echobox then has the flexibility to optimize performance and increase the metrics for your Page. 

All Autofeed posts will be shared using Optimal timing, with the exception of anything using the Share as soon as possible rules.

It is possible to override the default share time periods for Properties with different editorial strategies. For more information, please contact support@echobox.com  

 

Time Slot

The Time Slot setting is also optimized by Echobox’s AI, but provides more control over when your post is shared. You can define a period of time within which our algorithms will determine the optimal time to maximize traffic. The recommended minimum window of time is a 3 hour period, however this can be adjusted on a per-share basis. Using shorter time periods restricts the ability of the AI to optimize traffic.

 

Specific Time

Users can define the minute something should be shared. Note that there will be no timing optimization with this option.

 

Now

Users can choose to share a post immediately. This process takes a few seconds as we have to wait for confirmation from the social network that the share has been made. Note that there will be no timing optimization with this option.
