Duplication Protection
Duplication Protection
Why do I see duplicate articles in my home feed or schedule queue?
The most common reason for this is that the article in question is published twice with different URLs, and as a result, Echobox will process and register it as two different articles.
This can happen, for example, if:
- The same article is published in different sections of your website e.g.
- The URL gets updated after the article has been published due to a mistake or change in circumstances e.g.
This is why Echobox Social has a duplication protection system in place. This algorithm can be tailored to your exact needs to ensure that your articles are deduplicated before reaching your home feed. The most reliable results can be achieved when your article URLs include a unique identifier, e.g.
- https://www.bbc.co.uk/articles/5-cars-involved-in-m25-acciden t-123456
- https://www.bbc.co.uk/articles/6-cars-involved-in-m25-accident -123456
